Collalto was built sometime before 1710 as a typical Tuscan farmhouse. It used to house several families, with the animals kept on the ground floor. It also served as an elementary school from 1914-1956. It sits on 15 acres with 330 olive trees. The vineyards were removed in 1985, but was re-planted Feb 2008. The vineyard was expanded in the spring of 2012 and 2013 to a total of 6 acres.
The house originally had 5 bedrooms and 2 baths, and a pool. Renovations began Feb 2008 on the ground floor, converting the animal stalls and storage areas to a new kitchen, great room with huge fireplace, laundry room and cantina for wine production. An inside staircase was added.
The upstairs renovation was started Dec 2010 and ended May 2011. There are now 7 bedrooms, 5 of which have their own bath. There are 7 full baths and 2 half-baths. Access to the 3rd floor was added. A saline, infinity-edge pool was added in 2016.
